Your August long weekend checklist

Another long weekend is here, and we’re ready to make it a great one. Sunshine (mostly) in the forecast, plenty of downtime to enjoy with family and friends, and some delicious meals served hot off the grill—what else could you want for a summer holiday?

Here’s a quick checklist to help you get ready for the August long weekend. We hope to see you at one of our retail locations in Guelph or Toronto soon!

Get ready to grill (and chill)

The Rowe Farms team a thing or two about long weekends—here are some tips and a quick checklist from our team.

• Write out your menu plans (breakfast and lunch items + dinner). This will help you shop and ensure you don’t miss anything!
• Check out our cost-saving bundles to save money on your favourite products. You can also plan your meals around these offers!
• Sign up for Solar Dollar Deals if you haven’t already. This is another great way to save money on your favourite products.
• If you’re heading up north or going camping, take your cooler out of your hot garage a few hours before you pack. It will work better if it’s cold or at least room temp!
• Remember, we can pack your cooler for you upon request. When you place an order in person, online or by phone, you’re welcome to drop off your cooler—just let us know it’s coming. We’ll clean it, chill it in our industrial refrigerator and expertly pack it with your order. It’ll be ready to go whenever you need it!
• Try something new! We know you’ll want to grab long weekend favourites like burgers, hot dogs, steak, sausages, chicken breasts, pork chops and pork back ribs, but this is a great opportunity to enjoy a meal you don’t normally cook at home. Consider smoking a beef brisket, making beef back ribs, serving Korean or Southwest marinated beef short ribs, having chicken burgers, turkey burgers or lamb burgers for a change of pace, cooking some salmon over a cedar plank, or adding some lamb spiedinis to the mix on your grill. Ask our butchers for their recommendations—we have so many delicious products to choose from!
