We’ve always been thankful to customers who choose to shop from local, independent businesses like Rowe Farms—your support means everything to us, and it allows us to contribute to stronger local food systems here in Ontario. As the issue of buying Canadian has taken on new meaning in recent weeks, we wanted to share an overview of our products and highlight just how many of them come from your own backyard. We’ll get into details below, but in short: over 90% of our products are Canadian, and more than 95% of our meat is local. If you have any questions, please let us know—we’d be glad to hear from you!

Where does our meat come from?

Rowe Farms is a Canadian beef producer that started with a family farm in the Guelph area. We use holistic management to achieve regenerative outcomes on the land, and only work with like-minded food producers who are committed to using the same approach. All of our poultry, lamb and pork products are raised here in Canada (many here in southern Ontario) and over 95% of our beef is from Ontario. That other 5% or less consists of a small number of specialty items from Australia or New Zealand (for example: our Australian Wagyu steaks). None of our meat comes from America.

Eggs and produce

Our chicken and duck eggs are 100% sourced from local Ontario farms. They’re farm fresh, delicious and have a beautiful orange yolk—the way eggs are meant to be! Canada is a country that experiences all four seasons, but that doesn’t mean we can’t access incredible local produce for most of the year. We source all of our produce from local farms when seasonally available—this is and always has been our priority. Ontario grows amazing asparagus, peaches, tomatoes, corn and so much more—there’s no reason to buy it from outside of the province when we can get it here! In the winter months, we import select items (for example, lettuce).
