Turkey meatballs with zucchini noodles
Meatballs are always a good idea—they’re easy, delicious and family-friendly. While spaghetti and beef meatballs is a classic dish, there are other options. Consider making some lean, flavourful turkey meatballs and serving them over fresh zoodles (spiralized zucchini) with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese. You can start with our high quality ground turkey and finish this dish with a jar of basil and garlic or wild mushroom pasta sauce. Here’s a great recipe from The Food Network. (Want to switch things up? Use pesto instead of tomato sauce!)
Beef brisket tacos
Nutritious never has to equate to boring, and this meal is the perfect example. By packing a fresh tortilla with slow-cooked Ontario beef and a ton of veggies, you’ll have a hearty, flavourful meal that delivers plenty of protein, vitamins and minerals to nourish your body. We love adding homemade guacamole to tacos as well as fresh tomatoes or salsa, sliced radishes, chopped lettuce, sweet corn, red onions and more. You can also use thinly-sliced steak instead of brisket. Here’s a recipe to inspire you, but really, this meal can be made any way you like. Enjoy!
Pork chops with root vegetables
This delectable meal feels indulgent but packs a ton of important nutritional elements. Start with Ontario pork loin chops and your favourite root vegetables. Butternut or acorn squash with carrots, parsnips and sweet onions is a great combination, but anything goes—throw in some potatoes or turnip if that’s what your family likes best. A roughly chopped apple is another nutrient-rich addition that adds subtle sweetness. Season your pork and roast it over the chopped vegetables for a simple yet delicious dinner. Here’s a recipe to try if you’d like more specific instruction (it uses tenderloin, which is another delicious choice). Remember, you could also roast a whole chicken instead of pork!
